Florida, United States A holiday to the US may seem expensive in advance, but this does not have to be the case. On the long coastline from the Florida Keys, towards Maimi and Daytona Beach, there are several seaside resorts, with many freely accessible beaches. One seaside resort is more popular than the other, which means that the prices of accommodations vary greatly. The costs for food and drinks are also not the same everywhere. This can be done fairly cheaply. Amusement parks such as Disneyworld Orlando can be called pricey.

MEXICO

Mexico is also not known as a cheap holiday destination. Neighboring countries such as Guatemala are cheaper. As a holiday destination for a sun holiday or beach holiday, Mexico has more to offer with its Yucatan peninsula than its immediate neighbours. Cancun is, together with Playa del Carmen and Cozumel, one of the most popular holiday destinations in the Caribbean. Prices in the tourist center are on the high side, but there are plenty of cheaper alternatives. You also get more quality and luxury for your money in public transport and hotels than in neighboring countries.

DOMINANICAN REPUBLIC

On the Dominican Republic you will find some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. It is therefore a fantastic holiday destination. The costs for accommodation and daily maintenance are not high. The highest costs here are the extra expenses for excursions. These are definitely worth it, but can be relatively expensive. However, this is more than offset by the low cost of food & drink and accommodation.

Curacao

In the former Netherlands Antilles, you can make your holiday as expensive as you want. For many beaches you have to pay to access the beach, or you have to rent a beach bed. There are also numerous free-access beaches. Also with regard to food and drinks, everything is possible from cheap to expensive. The same also applies to the accommodations. There are plenty of good accommodations available for a reasonable price.

Canaric Islands

The archipelago off the coast of Africa actually belongs to Europe, but we couldn't skip it anyway. The price levels on the Canary Islands are normal. Even in the tourist areas, the costs for accommodations are not high. Costs for food & drinks and transport can be called low. If you book a stay in an all-inclusive resort, you will save the costs for food and drinks. The prices of daily necessities and accommodation can vary per island, but the prices do not vary much. The costs for an amusement park are on the high side.

Malediven

A holiday in the Maldives certainly does not have to be expensive. Despite the fact that one of the most expensive resorts in the world is located here. If you dine a lot in your hotel, the costs can add up. Maldives has to import a lot of vegetables, fruits and meat. As a result, prices quickly rise. Despite that, a dinner in a restaurant costs about half of that in the Netherlands. The only thing that is pricey, besides the plane ticket, are the overnight stays. The trick is finding the right balance between quality and price. Then the costs for a holiday in the Maldives are certainly not expensive.

Thailand

Prices in Thailand vary widely. In Bankok or touristy Phuket, prices are a lot higher than inland. On average, € 35 to € 40 per day should be fine. In Bankok and Phuket you have to take into account that you soon pay 25% more for food, drinks and accommodation. Compared to Malaysia this seems a lot, but this includes an overnight stay. This can of course also be much more expensive. There are also hotels, where you easily pay € 125 per night.

Bali, Indonesië

Indonesia and Bali in particular has been a popular holiday destination among the Dutch for years. Apart from the flight, Indonesia is certainly not an expensive country to stay. An overnight stay costs about €20. Admission to an attraction is € 2.00. Food and drinks don't have to be expensive here, although a beer here also costs a good € 2.50.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is one of the cheapest countries for a holiday. The costs for daily maintenance are quite low here and the overnight stays in a hotel do not have to be high either. For an overnight stay in a luxury hotel, a price of 10,000 rupee is a good average. This amounts to approximately € 60 per night. If you book a mid-range hotel, the costs will be much lower. Food in a hotel costs as little as about €3. Admission to an attraction, less than € 2.00.

Maleisië

The biggest costs for a trip to Malaysia are the flight ticket and the overnight stays. These differ between the seasons. Staying in Malaysia itself is not expensive. You can stay in a mid-range hotel for a price of €35 to €65 per night. € 10 per day or 50 Malaysian Ringit will get you a long way. If you fly in the low season, a holiday to Malaysia is a very economical trip.
